Caladon
On the path before you, therein lies the truth.
Alonin is the rightful Lord of Castle Caladon. But the ancient and dread dragon Thudredid occupies the castle, terrorizing the countryside and destroying all who oppose it. Every Lord of Caladon has gone against the dragon in battle as soon as he has a male heir, and every Lord of Caladon has died trying.
If he chose to, Alonin could remain with his maternal grandfather, King Clemmth, and become heir to his kingdom. Yet he cannot. The generational curse of his blood calls him back to Caladon. He knows that his time has come and that he must challenge the might of Thudredid.
Only by returning the stolen Dylcaer jewel to the dragon will Alonin have any chance to survive. Recovering it will be a daunting undertaking, for it lies in the coffers of the powerful sorceress queen Urganni, ruler of an island of invincible pirates. She alone is immune to the evil that haunts the gemstone.
Dylcaer or Thudredid, Alonin fears he has only a choice of dooms!
